BSC Launches ADME and Transcriptomics Working Groups

Help shape the next phase of botanical safety research

The Botanical Safety Consortium (BSC) is exploring interest in forming two new Working Groups:

𝐀𝐃𝐌𝐄 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐆𝐮𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬
This group would look at the application of ADME tools for botanicals in light of newly available in vitro toxicity data. A focused effort will also explore gut model tools.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐬
This group will explore opportunities to analyze and interpret transcriptomics datasets generated across BSC Working Groups. Potential areas of focus include:

  • Deriving transcriptomic points of departure
  • Applying existing biomarkers
  • Utilizing the data for mechanistic interpretation
  • Connectivity Map and pathway analysis

These groups offer opportunities to contribute scientific expertise, become more involved in BSC activities, and potentially take on leadership roles.

Participation is also open to individuals outside the consortium. Private-sector participants must be affiliated with companies that are BSC members.
